Bowling Shoes - Bowlers Feet need Protecting!

The recreational pursuit of bowling in many parts of the world was once branded as the game for geeks. Anyone seen sporting a pair of bowling shoes was nothing short of a super geek. It's one thing having all the latest bowling bags, bowling balls, bowling gloves, shirts, caps and other accessories, but not until you protect your feet with a good quality pair of bowling shoes can you call yourself a real bowling enthusiast. Bowling shoes are by far the most important piece of kit for the pastime. If you don't have them and you drop a 6-pound ball on unprotected feet, then you're out of the game anyway!.

Even the bowling shoes which were once the comical footwear for the bowling geeks has now become a must have for every player. In fact, people put on their bowling shoes without a second thought these days and for good reason. Seriously, if a bowling ball drops on a player's unprotected foot, it is likely that he or she will never forget or refuse to wear correct bowling footwear ever again. Best not to let it happen in the first place!

Most people believe that accidents happen to others, and so long as they are extra careful, they won’t be the victim of a bowling mishap. Just about all those folks limping around with fractured feet and toes used to share the same thoughts but you can bet your bottom dollar they’ll be wearing a pair of quality bowling shoes the next time they’re back in the game! Those bowling balls are super heavy you know ;-)

Too many people have a bash at bowling and love it so much so that the run out an invest in some pricy bowling shoes only to have their love of the game become yet another passing fad a couple of months down the road. If you’re just starting out, do yourselves a favor and rent shoes at the alley until you know whether you’re gonna stick it out or not.

My wife is also a keen bowler although we rarely play together. She has recently invested in a good pair of women’s bowling shoes made by Brunswick. I get a little jealous at times because there seems to be more choices in styles, colors, and designs with women’s bowling shoes, and compared to my bland black jobs, she looks dressed to kill when she gets togged up for a game.

So remember folks, we wear special bowling shoes for a good reason and it's really a wise move to invest in your own footwear if you get serious about the game. Inside any pro bowling shop you can surely find just about anything that you need for bowling, from balls and bags to shoes, brushes, and powder or resin. Get fit, have fun, look great, and without having to worry about the weather. It just doesn't get any better than bowling! Oh, and don't forget that a good pair of bowling shoes will help to improve your game too!
