Why Croc Shoes Laughable Footwear has become so Popular?
The original concept behind Crocs shoes and sandals was actually quite practical. They were first created to be an outdoor product mainly for boating and water sports. It made a lot of sense back then as they were made solely of rubber, were very lightweight and comfortable, and what’s more they floated, which meant it would be pretty difficult to lose them in the water.
However, and purely by accident, the moment mainstream society clapped eyes on the unusual croc sandals, the demand was on to supply them as both a fashion item and a practical water shoe. Yes, they are extremely comfortable, but folks wanted to adorn their feet with these ugly Crocks long before they knew anything about the comfort aspect. It’s still a phenomenon why folks took to this footwear like a duck takes to water. Maybe foot fashion was ready for something completely different, and it certainly got that, but for the founders of Croc Shoes I guess all they care about is the phenomenal success that’s resulted out of their original idea.
Croc Shoes & the Comfort thing!
Sometimes our feet need a holiday from all the hip and fashionable footwear that we so often squeeze them into in the name of fashion. Ok, so Croc beach shoes and sandals might make your feet look as ‘Crook as Rookwood’ as the beach loving Aussie’s say, but that will soon be forgotten the moment you slip into a pair of genuine crocks.
In 2004, after the initial buzz created in the world of water sports as being the best lightweight boating shoe to have ever been, Crocs got their hands on a Canadian company called Foam Creations, along with their manufacturing operations which involved injecting a special foam resin into a mold to form a shoe. They also secured the rights to a foam resin called croslite. It’s this croslite which actually forms a mould to the wearers foot and this is what provides for very comfortable and very functional footwear.
So, with a little background knowledge on Croc sandals, clogs and their founders, perhaps this is not the hideous shoe it first appears. Oh, and if comfort and ghastly designs are not an odd enough combination for you, Crocs shoes are pretty inexpensive too, but that doesn’t dampen profits. Since the Croc explosion in 2006, they have now become the leading sandal in the whole wide world with profits anticipated at 400 million for 2008. That’s pretty good going for a shoe knocked up from a mix of rubber and foam wouldn’t you say!
If you’re not walking around in a pair of Crocs yet, isn’t it about time you treated your feet to a whole new experience and hideous makeover? Don’t worry, wearers of Crocs sandals are no longer considered daring dorks but trend setters in Hip Footwear! |
